It’s full-tilt summertime here in Arizona, and everyone and everything – flora, fauna, and us poor mind-cooked inhabitants – are wilting… wilting. Like, envision the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz, except instead of a house crushing her, she’s crushed under the weight of the relentless summer sun. Melodramatic, perhaps, but oh so accurate.
Accurate as 116 degrees, baby. Which, coincidentally, is what tomorrow’s high is supposed to be.
But we’re coping, we’re coping. And the hotel and resort industry in Scottsdale is helping us to cope, by kindly offering some excellent summertime deals.
Chaparral Suites Resort Scottsdale is offering a two-room suite with $50 food and beverage card per day (up to $150 total), complimentary full, cooked to order breakfast, evening reception, live music and more for $109.00 per night. The location is ideal for all the entertainment options Scottsdale has to offer, but all of the amenities of the resort will convince you to just sit and lounge and relax. This offer is good through September 7, 2009.
The Clarion Hotel Scottsdale is promoting a “Run Away From Home” package for $69.00 per night, including a beach bag stuffed with essentials for lounging pool-side, and coupons for one-cent drinks. Proximity to all of Scottsdale’s attractions makes this property an ideal launching point for weekend activities. This offer is good through September 30, 2009.
Want to go in on a getaway with some friends? The DC Ranch Retreat, located “away from it all” in Northern Scottsdale, suggests you and seven of your friends visit their establishment. For $1000 a night (split eight ways that’s only $125 per person) you are pampered in a 5,300 square foot executive retreat with graceful architecture, casual patios, and an elegant atmosphere. This offer is good through September 30, 2009.
For a getaway with your girlfriends, the DoubleTree Paradise Valley Resort Scottsdale entices you with a “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” day of pampering, shopping, and relaxation. For $129 per night visitors receive a $50 Lamar Day Spa credit, two specialty drinks at the Oasis Bar, a shopping and dining rewards book, and one in-room movie. This offer is good through October 4, 2009.
